Chains falling off tires when driving
1 Example
When you are driving on a snow-covered road, you do not notice that the chains have fallen off the tires, and the car slip on a curve. The car skids off the main road.
2 What did you do wrong?
- You did not re-inspect the chains.
- You put too much confidence in the effect of the chains.
- You did not use the bands for the chains.
3 How to avoid accidents
- Put the chains on the tires in a safe place.
- Use appropriate chains for your tires.
- Use the hooks and the bands for chains for increased reliability.
- Check the fitting of the chains frequently to see they are not loose.
- Drive slowly-less than 40km/h.
- Do not put too much confidence in the effect of the chains, and drive carefully.
*Although it may seem troublesome to fit the bands for large-sized vehicles and trucks, it is worth taking the time.
